SPARK BUSINESS SUCCESS WORKSHOPS

Spark Business Success programs provide women in business with hands-on learning, resources, and networking. Workshops cover key topics like startup strategies, financial literacy, grant writing, and marketing to help build and grow successful businesses or nonprofits.

Current Workshop Series:

  • Ask yourself: "Why not me?" If you have a business or product idea, the Your Biz Pitch Challenge is your opportunity to work toward making it happen.

Open to all Thrive Sis! members, in the ideas or startup phase of their entrepreneurship journey.

Entrepreneurs are more likely to persist in meeting their goals with community support. The Your Biz Pitch Challenge provides that community by bringing together peers and mentors who are ready to both challenge and encourage participants, creating an environment where students can build things, take risks, and learn from failures.

During the twelve-week program, participate in workshops, have access to office hours with Thrive Sis! experts, and get time with facilitators. A winner will be selected for funding at the end of the initial twelve-week program receiving grant funding toward their venture. The winner must also commit to joining an eight-week summer fellowship cohort, which includes further mentorship and training.

  • Black Girl Day Off, observed every October 11, is a day dedicated to encouraging Black women to take a much-needed mental health break. At Thrive Sis!, we understand that Black women often carry the weight of high risks for heart disease, breast cancer, and other chronic illnesses. This day reminds us all to pause and prioritize emotional well-being.

Black women are pillars of strength in their communities, but that strength shouldn’t come at the cost of their mental health. Black Girl Day Off highlights the importance of addressing mental health in our communities, shedding the stigma, and encouraging support and healing.

By raising awareness and fostering open conversations about mental health, we can empower Black women to seek care and support without shame. Thrive Sis! stands with Black women, encouraging self-care and providing the resources needed to nurture both mind and body. Let’s invest in our well-being and create a future where mental health is a priority for all.
